This just proves that we have become too dependent on our computers.

Just a thought on computers, e mail etc etc. There are a number of auctions around the world these days and very high prices are often paid for even mundane letters written either by famous people, or have a significant event as a connection. A postcard signed by Beatrx Potter will be valued at high dollar indeed just as an exmple, even tho' the person the card was directed to has no fame at all.

Will the same thing ever happen to e mails I wonder? apart from those written by our illustrious Government which could of course be used as evidence in a criminal trial.

Will the art of letter writing now be a dead science, and is literature now to be communicated in stulted phrases and letter and numbers?

I agree, SL. one of the saddest tales I've heard is a neighbour boasting that his three and four year old children had sent their thankyou letters to Grannie by email. What about those wonderful first attempts a writing that we older generation have kept from our grandchildren? Will modern-day Grannies keep the emails?
