Concertina Style Window Blinds

An apology for asking a question which has no doubt been asked a hundred times previously but unfortunately cannot find any details when I 'search'.
Question and your advice relates to 'best practice' in respect of the concertina style window blinds, particularly the large front three part window.
Previous van had roller blinds and apart from nightime use never left the blinds down when van not in use between breaks in order to preserve the spring tention. We developed seperate windon coverings, the front being a particular challenge.
As the concertina style do not appear to have any springs or tensioning device is it ok to leave these blinds down when the van is in storeage.
We are trying to avoid as far as possible the upholstery and curtain edges becoming faded by hopefully this years prolonged periods of sun shine!!!
Many thanks for any advice and suggestions.
PS: In case the answer is different for various van manufacturers ours is a recent Coachman.

I was advised not to close them completely as they have a reflective backing which could cause excessive heat build up and possible window damage

We have them on our Lunar and on contacting Lunar to query the sticker on the window showing reference the above, Lunar had no idea about the sticker and why it was on the window. As the caravan is to be used outdoors, it would seem that the blinds are not fit for purpose if you cannot pull them down on a hot day.

The OP asked about leaving the blinds down whilst in storage. If this is the situation then on a hot day the inside of the van is also likely to get very hot with only the standard ventilation. When in use, even if the occupants have gone out for the day, then probably additional roof vents will be open, thus easing the temperature behind the blinds and reducing the temp between the blinds and the windows.

And if you store your caravan on your drive, are you supposed to leave the blinds down? Last year our caravan was in storage during the summer for longer than we would have liked and it did not suffer any ill effects even though the blinds were down all the time.
