I've had two caravans over 31 years and towed well over 120,000 miles with them.
Both caravans had cookers with glass doors and the latest is 14 years old.
Opened up the caravan yesterday after a long tow to find the cooker door detached on the floor and the glass shattered into a thousand pieces!
I know this has happened before to others and that it can occur out of the blue for no obvious reason..... twas dammed annoying !!!
Going to be a DIY repair probably with some brushed aluminium sheet so it can't shatter again.
The inner clear glass heat shield is still intact.
Replacement glass from Thetford is circa £120.

Happened to us, got stuck on the Paris Periphery road just before rush hour, swinging in and out of traffic, got to Gandspatte only to find the dinning table had escaped from it's holder and smashed through the oven door. The Dutch folk near us must have thought Mrs H was very caravan proud as she got out the vacuum cleaner.
Cost at that time was £60 for a complete door. About 15 years ago.

We had the door fly off our cooker on one of our trips, fortunately no damage to the door or the rest of the caravan - it was a PITA to fit back on though.
