corner steddies

newbie here - just wondering how easy or difficult a job it is to change the corner steadies on my Elddis Wisp 510? - are they easy parts to get a hold of, are they van specific or pretty universal. It may be that i can change just the threaded rod - is this possible.

thanks in anticipation.

Yes,No and Yes.

They only bolt to either the chassis or floor depending on if front or back, fairly universal get the one for your chassis make. You can change the spiral rod it has split pin holding it in place.

Why do you want to change them?

It's really just the threaded rod i want to change - the faces on the nut end are a wee bit worn and the jacking handle slips sometimes.
you could try getting a hexagon socket on a socket set winder that may be a cheaper option

If you know someone who can weld get them to weld the correct size nuts to the end of the existing rods, either whilst on the van or off I would guess this would be cheaper and easier than changing the threaded rod.

If you have to take the threaded section off (and is is not difficult if you have the right tools) I would replace the threaded part, rather than welding on to it. They are available at all my local dealers and so I would not think they are hard to find.
