Hi I'm looking for any help and recommendations with caravan sites in Devon or Cornwall. I will be travelling from Scotland this summer. I have a 6 year old and one at 1.5 years old so I wand to get it right. We hate these big comercial sites but do like a family run park with pools and things to do round about. has anyone got any ideas or web links to sites - thanks Kev

As everyone, says Pembrokeshire is lovely and has the benefit of being closer to you than Cornwall. We tend to go to Pembrokeshire for Whitsun as its a great place to go with the minimum of fuss and bother for us travelling from near Leominster in Herefordshire. We stay at Kiln Park. It does get busy on Bank Holidays and its expensive but I just love to be able to walk along the beach into Tenby on a sunny evening. That for me is pure magic.

Cornwall is beautiful but is more crowded, its a pig of a drive down at times, especially around the traffic black spots like Bodmin but we go down there every five years or so. The area around St Ives is great. Good campsite at Polmanter. Hope this helps. Have a great holiday wherever you go.

Hi kev, Just noticed your post. I went to a site near to Helston which is just about as far as you can go in Cornwall without driving over the edge. The site was called Gwendreath Caravan Park or caravan and camping park or something like that. It is near to and in easy walking distance of one of the safest beaches for kids I've ever seen. Its called Kennack sands. Just a little inlet type bay. Loads of attractions in the area. Go to the Seal sactuary at Gweek - the kids (and the adults) love it. Many happy memories for us when our kids were small- now we wait for our first grandchild in Sept! Hope you find Gwendreath on the web. you should do. Have a great time.
