Adopted daughter's hubby is still very ill, but our daughter is recovering now after a bad turn. Despite a MRI scan and blood tests they cannot find out what is wrong with OH so back to Dr and hospital for more tests.
TBH I am now beginning to suspect that the issue could be stress related which has been compounded with OH's original hospitalisation. Generally she is a strong as the proverbial ox and has never had a day off sick and even the doctor remarked on it.

I hope they are both well soon and you can continue with plans you have made

I think there is a lot of Stress related illness at the moment. My wifes specialist seems to think her eczma, is stress related. Itchy ness causing lack of sleep, increasing stress levels again.

Deepest sympathy at the sad loss in your family, hoping your daughter has the support and love she will need to get through this sad time.

Just an update. Arrived at site yesterday despite Covid infections increasing dramatically. I had a booster injection on Wednesday. Good news is that OH seems to have perked up a bit so maybe a change of scenery is doing her the world. A visit to Clark's village will probably perked her up even more, but not my wallet! :D

You may be pleasantly surprised.Clarks have a massive sale on at the moment👏👏
That is good to know. We are also hoping that when the weather gets better, sometime next week we will take a drive up to Bath for a wander around the shops.

One week ago yesterday we had an old school friend and his wife drop in and visit us on their way home from a cycle tour of South Wales back to North Wales. Fantastic to see them, they stayed for about 4 hours.

They phoned the next day, Friday, to say that he had tested positive. The next day we tested positive.

It's been a horrible week. We are both now improved but totally drained. We are still positive.

Today I had a prescription to collect from the pharmacy, (not related to the covid). I phoned them to ask them to keep hold of it as it was not urgent and told them we had covid.

No problem, we will deliver it this afternoon.

I thought they may deliver it through the letterbox, but no, it was delivered by hand!

Amazingly poor duty of care to their delivery driver. Particularly for a pharmacy.

My BIL pharmacy in Coventry always insist on handing his monthly pack of medication to him. It must be for safety to ensure that there’s no possibility of small children or perhaps someone with dementia getting hold of his drugs. But the delivery person mostly wears a mask.

It makes perfect sense, but the pharmacy should have been aware of that. As it happens, I got him to throw it to me.

This is the first time we have had it. Now just heard that other friends have sucummed for the first time also. I wrote to them to say they didn't catch it from us. They are in Seattle!

We caught 4 months ago , which version who knows, covid will be around like a summer flu, then into a more deadly version as it mutates again and back. I have seen people walking around with the plastic face shields , absolutley no use except for peice of mind.

Until it mutates again into a deadly version, again get on with life. .
But as everyone has diffent health problems, ie nut allergies which are more immediate, we all have to take car.

To many "kill germs" soaps etc. Let the kids play in the dirt, get natural immunities.

Ok rant over,
I can book Houghton Mills for three nights from this Sunday, ÂŁ78 , 2 dogs. Great weather and a lovely river to swim in Two great pubs.

Thanks a bunch that’s a real morale booster. I’ve deigned not to let my wife see it as she’s off to Rhodes this afternoon with our daughter and granddaughterđŸ€žđŸŒ With an average infection rate of 1:25 and 250 passengers on the plane there’s a likelihood of 10 covid infected passengers on the flight. Plus rates i Greek resorts are increasing. Of the three only my wife hasn’t had covid but all three are fully vaccinated plus prior Infections too. Makes me quite relaxed about staying at home looking after two large French Lops, Syrian hamster and aged springer. Waking between the two homes three times a day will do wonders for my step count and the meal invites are rolling in.

I have no idea which version we have right now, but I believe the new one provides no resistance to infection. We are on recovery but really don't want to go through this again. Daughter and her family (11) return from Turkey today. Another Grandaughter from Morroco. Son goes into Hospitol on Monday for Cancer op. After just returning from a cruise.

We are treading very carefully.

I did mention that my wife passed away on the 22/7 after a battle where she got a infected whist in hospital. The certificate said she did not pass away through the several injuries she went in for. Was this where the covid she had in Febuary made her weak?.On the bus to our library I was still only only one with a mask on.

This from The Week. Following on from the last few posts I do hope this latest strain doesn’t cause more disruption and hurt.

Experts say another highly contagious Omicron variant has arrived in the UK. The BA.2.75 variant, nicknamed Centaurus, was first detected in India in May. It is thought to spread at an even faster rate than its Omicron relatives BA.5 and BA.2 variants. The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control designated it as a “variant under monitoring” on 7 July, meaning there is evidence that it could be more transmissible. The news comes as the World Health Organisation said Covid remains a global emergency, almost two and a half years after it was first declared.

This came out a couple of days back and gives an early overview of its possible impact.
