CR-V 2.2 diesel automatic

I see that at long last Honda have started producing this and it will be available Jan 2010. They have also put in the slightly more powerful engine that has been in the Accord for the past year and also tweeked the styling. So long as the auto box is geared nicely, it should be a really good tow car. If anyone gets to have a drive, I would be most interested!

About time! I'd probably have bought one if it had been around at the time I was buying - I liked the CR-V but decided I didn't want to live with a manual box. I don't regret buying the landcruiser though.

We have the manual version and it is just brilliant at towing our caravan!

Just completed 4500 mile, 96 night, 23 campsite trip in UK and France with CRV 2.2 diesel (09) towing Senator Indiana (1500Kg). Car and caravan absolutely faultless in every respect. Overall 30mpg, including about 2500 miles towing. Cruises in 6th on level-ish roads, but 5th needed on any inclines, and occasionally 4th on some steeper motorway/autoroute bits. I would anticipate some loss in performance and increase in fuel consumption on automatic. Hope to go for longer next year!
