hi was just washing my 1 month 2007 old van and found a crack on the front panal

it goes off in four different positions and at the moment is about 1nch

is this a panal failure as i cant see any mark to say anything has hit it

my point is ,is it easy to repair the crack or will it need a new hole front panal

also i think it should be done under warrenty not insurance

See if you can have it dun under warranty has they shod put a new panel.

Has it's a big job to repair as you wound have to get to the back of the panel to do it right.

.neil, we had some cracks in our front panel. It was an abbey 2 1/2 years old done under warrenty, very good job done by Abbey. Dont know about the longevity of the repair as we sold the caravan after (not because of the repair)

I would insist on a new front panel as being 1 month old it must have been faulty at manufature. You know if it gets replaced it will be job done, if you have a repair who knows.

Im sure it will be your right to a replacement

Neil, had crack around front handle my Compass 2003. Reported for warranty and guy came out from panel manufacturer and resurfaced area like new but was pessimistic about long term and told me to keep an eye on it. Sure enough foll year cracks appeared again and Explorer took van back their plant and replaced front panel no more probs. Don't get fobbed off this fault surfaces in many van manufacturers reason is (am told) that production works to such tight tolerances these days in the laying up of panels they are now so thin you can almost see through them. If we all make sure not to tollerate such shoddy products van industry might just get their act together one day and produce a quality product, won't hold my breath though!
