Croatia on a shoestring

Dear All,

Writing this on a wi-fi connection in Salzburg and my time is about to run out. For any that are interested, I'm writing daily(ish) updates from our trip to Croatia in our sub-£1000 car/caravan combination and you can see them by clicking 'Blogs' at the top of the page or see day one's effort by clicking this link

Salzburg at present but crossing the Alps tomorrow. Hope to have an update for you then!

Clock's ticking. Speak soon!

It's a very entertaining and interesting blog good luck with the Volvo and the Alps Nigel and Mrs D

Nigel, are you toting up the running costs of the tour of Croatia? ie site fees, fuel, tolls, etc. I would be very interested in these figures.
Mean while keep us up to date with the tour good luck to you and yours. Great blogg

Am keeping meticulous costings of the whole trip. So far, fuel has been as expensive as home but camping cards are keeping the site costs more sensible. Am now in Slovenia and both Volvo and Sprite are unscathed!

Hi Nigel
I'm glad to hear things are going well. Did you go through the Karawanken Tunnel? I'm following your blogg with interest. Where are you staying in Slovenia. Lake Bled is worth a visit although I would not particularly recommend Camp Bled. Camp Bled may be better at this time of year as it was packed out when we visited last August. Mind how you go and have a great time.
Tim

Hi, Nigel,
Have been reading your blog with interest. Have read Day 6, but then............ Hope all is well, just run out of Wi-Fi or laptop battery fade or some such. Let us know, as your audience awaits you!
Happy holiday!
Paul

Hi Nigel and Mrs. D,
It looks like you're having a great time (been following your blog and feeling slightly envious!).
Bring on retirement..............
Nigel.
