Current Swift range does not appear to have water drain down taps except at the Truma water tank. My previous Eccles had one in each of the hot and cold water pipes at floor level. Am I missing something?

Unless they have totally removed them, under the van should be one or two red bungs fitted to the hot and cold water pipes, just protruding to the outside of the floor.
They are held by a collar whichyou have to push inwards and pull the bung out to drain.

All you need to do is flick the hot water tank switch and open all the taps central between hot and cold run the pump for a minuite or 2 job done.
Winter unplug the pump and run all water out of it.

this years charisma has only drain down valve located near the water heater.Tghis will drain down both hot and cold systems..... alledgedly.. and it does seem to do that on my 565

The problem with just the heater drain is that it will not drain the low laying water from the pipes very well.
This is more pronounced where pipes go over wheel arches, which leaves water in areas it should not really be in,allowing the possibility, in fact definate probability based on this years winter, of freezing and pushing joints apart.
If your van only has the one drain point, it is worth blowing down the taps to remove as much water as possible.

my Charisma has been in storage all winter without a problem so it seems to work. The pond in the storage site had ice 2" thick.
Damian, if the water pipes are not full, with just some water lying around the expansion of ice will go down the pipe (easyest route) not blow the joints. If however the pipes were full I agree this would blow joints

I suggest you come and tell the several van owners whose pipe joints did get blown apart by ice and caused leaks that I was asked to fix.
I think they will disagree with you.

Thanks to everyone for their responses. I was relieved that Trucker confirms the new arrangement and I will certainly ensure that the taps are left open midway next Winter
