Hiya every-one, I posted a while ago about getting a Frontera for towing but after the comments have put that to the back of my mind. I have now got the chance of a Daewoo Musso 2.3 petrol, and looking at the technical info it seems to be pretty affordable on fuel solo (about 20 miles per week when the wifes got it) or towing. It has a Mercedes engine so on that score shouldn't be bad, low milage etc any-one got one used one etc?

Thanks all,

phillip.

We have the newer rexton which is better as it has slightly more modern mercedes technology but not the newer troublesome merc tiptronic. You may find the petrol is lacking the grunt of the diessel though as it is quite a weighty car solo, let alone with the van on the back. I have heard people critisise the Frontera but know two people that towed with then one petrol one diessel and they could never understand what the critics were on about. Havinbg said that read Prac caravan on the rexton and I disagree with what they have to say, everyone says the LR Disco is the best tow car out there but few add the proviso when it's working so really the only thing you can go for is what you want and are happy with

A rather sweeping statement you are making there, Caravanner. Can you please explain what makes them bad towcars?

Sorry for the delay in replying, but I'm here now. Thank you for the input from you and I have taken on board what you all say. As it happens the Daewoo got sold to some one else so we had a look on fleabay to see what was on there ans we just keep looking at all the other makes aswell so we will see what happens. We aren't in a desperate rush to buy a 4x4 yet. I was by the way talking to a chap who had got a Frontera 2.5 diesel and was really pleased with it solo and towing, and it was giving a good return on fuel too. He has had it for a while so has had the chance to see what it is like.

I personally want another Land Rover Defender but swmbo won't let me or at least won't got on holiday in it.

Philip If you come across another Musso dont be afraid to give it a go weve recently sold one and found it to be an excellent tow vehicle .

I would suggest to you that you give the petrol a miss tho

The diesel is a bit slow getting away but when its going its good

Also www.Koreancarparts.co.uk for any Daewoo etc spares

Good Luck Sir Roger
