Damp Meters

I am planning on upgrading my caravan shortly, and I would appreciate any help with advice on damp meters.

I have heard that types are available without puncturing the wall surface.

Are they effective?

Any further tips appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Pete there are non destructive damp meters available & they are usefull for detecting damp easily in confined spaces & behind surfaces such as plastic shower compartments in caravans, they are expensive in relation to the common pin type though cheapest being on Ebay around

Thanks Tony,

I had a look at the probeless ones and then rang a few tool hire places.

I found a local tool hire that hires them out for

i have always stayed away from them personally because they can pick up condensation. the probes if used properly do not leave visible holes and give a better result because you are testing the wood underneath the vinyl covering

FAO Reed Caravans, what do you do about caravans with fitted showers. Weve got an eccles topaz with a shower which is about 1/3 of the rear washroomand is fully sealed
