Hi

Just wondering if anyone has any experience of Dethleff cravans.

A dealer not far away from us has twin axle on offer, this years model.

Seems very solid and quite nice interior.

Must admit compared to some British vans standing next to it, it seemed like a Panzer tank without the barrel.

He tells me that it is his last one as they (Dethleff) are only making 8'6" models for the home market and at the moment they're not supplying British market vans.

Regard

Tomo

Hi Tom

We've got a Dethleff dealer near us who only has a few vans left, he says he's seklling them off cheap because there is a new range coming out.

Must admit the borchure he showed us was impressive, the new designs look really modern and they are a grey colour as well.

I looked around one of the single axles he had in, and much as it was a nice van, I thought they were rather overpriced, and heavy.

We've a Bailey, which we love, but the Dethleff has a truly solid build quality.

The interior cupboards aren't cut out inside with plastic inserts to save weight.

Also apparently they have 40mm thick floor and roof and 34mm wall insulation.

The front plastic is thicker and stronger to preserve longevity.

If you have a good look around them you can see why they're so heavy.

The Dethleff version is about 100kg heavier than our Burgundy.

Best regards

Tomo.

Hi Tom

On the negative side our first caravan was a Deffy and on the first trip out the fire came off the wall, the base to the wardrobe dropped to the floor and a wall cupboard fell off but apart from that it was just a run of the mill caravan, nothing to pay extra for but there are good and bad in all and we wish you luck

Hi Tom

Won't be buying the Dethleff anyway as it's too big 2,000kg all up(the one in the dealers) and we're more than happy with the Burgundy.

Just impressed at the time with what seemed to be a realy solid caravan, nice rounded edges on cupboards and doors etc. and seemd well put together.

best regards

Tomo
