Dethleffs caravans

Hello

Am looking for advice, am interested in potentially purchasing a Dethleffs 540DL caravan, a 2007. What do people think of this? What are the problems or issues I may have? I have looked at all the usual suspects in this type of layout (end bathroom, side dinette) but admit to being impressed with quality of the van. What do you think?

We took delivery of a new Dethleffs 545V in the autumn. As the weather and other factors have prevented us from using it yet (we're off to Scandinavia with it in May), I can only comment on the basis of static evaluation. We bought it because the build quality was a cut above the competition offering the same layout (we wanted a caravan with twin fixed beds, and a large front window) and we have not been disappointed.

Are there UK dealers that stock new dethleffs (besides Lowdhams which do the campy)? I've just been looking on the web and not found any.

We bought a new Dethleffs DL540 in 2005 when they were first imported and it has proved to be a superb caravan. We have used it in all weathers (snow to 35deg.) and it has always been comfortable. There have been no leaks or problems and it tows superbly. This year we are off to Holland in the Spring then in the summer for a month around Germany, Austria and Switzerland besides UK breaks and have complete confidence in our choice of caravan. As I understand the situation at the moment Dethleffs are no longer importing new models into the UK but are fully supportive of UK owners and dealers offer full back up and parts.

If you decided to purchased I'm sure you will not be dissapointed with the product.
