Ooops

I’ve put my roof box on this morning and I must remember not to drive in to bird reserves, beach car parks etc or anywhere with a height restriction. I’m 6 ft 4 inch and even standing on my old plastic caravan step I can’t reach inside the box to tighten the tie down straps.

It never occurred to me that my SUV might be over-height - until we took a wrong turn and came to a bridge with only 5 ft something clearance - I got one of my passengers to watch me through.

I had a boss who drove home into his garage, totally forgetting that his kids bikes were atop the Passat. Ouch!
