just bought a 2002 disco td5 problem is our caravan is in for its annual service and could not try to hitch it up befor buying.

has any one had any probs with the tow hitch and alko, do we need a spacer on the tow hitch or will the door/wheel clear with out probs...

I have a td5 disco 2000 and have no problems with the alco . Hitching up is also fine with plenty of clearence between back door and spare wheel and i dont have a spacer fitted

I also have a TD5 with a swan neck tow ball and the AL-KO fits perfectly.

Hi Mary

On most Discos you will find that there is just about enough room to use the alko hitch. The main problem comes if you have wide tyres. We do have a 2 inch spacer and this gives plenty of room.
