We have a security camera focused on our Bird feeder and I sit watching it on my I Pad in the lounge. Largest amount of birds are Goldfinches as many as up to 20 at a time. After feeding they regularly go down on the bird bath for drinks

We have had an extraordinary number of Goldfinches this winter. Might be due to the fact that the nature reserve next to us had a lot of Ash cut down about two years ago and there’s now a much healthier undersword with flowers and shrubs growing more vigorously. Wonder if that may have helped the smaller birds like finches and tits.

Been in house 50 years and bottom of our garden is Canal bank and other side of the Canal is open farmland for 5 miles plus. Years ago we had lots of Greenfiches and some Bullfinches. But now only the occasional Greenfinch and no Bullfinch for last 4 or5 years, whereas the Goldfinch has multiplied

Numbers of birds within each species varies considerably year on year - Greenfinch numbers have been decimated by disease but are starting to recover - Blackbird numbers are down this year due to the dry summer and the annual influx of Scandinavian Blackbirds has reduced due to climate change - Bewick Swan numbers are way down this year as climate change means they're shortening their migration routes and staying in Northern Europe.

Opposite my unit(it's on a small industrial estate) is a large wooded area,on one particular large bush I watched what I thought a busy robin,it so happened after a few minutes I counted over ten, also wandering Canada geese turn up accompanied by 4 sometimes Upto six chicks, mallards and coots dwell on a nearby lodge it makes a relaxing break watching such activities
