Frank, who pi**ed in your cornflakes this morning??

Or are you still sulking about your 4x4 thread being deleted?

Maybe it's time for your meds :O)

Obviously Anthony read my post as I intended it and not as being critical of him. Read it again tomorrow Frank when you're sober but there will be no need to apologise and what the hell has that got to do with the English flying the flag of St. George? lmaoooooooooooooo.

Anthony,

frank what the heck are you going on the offensive for and i agree with LB you talk tripe whats max boyce got to do with caravanning.

Nothing to do with caravanning, the same as you perceiving to be snubbed by the English is nothing to do with caravanning. See we can all talk tripe.

IMHO people like Max Boyce are one of the reasons people take the mick out of the welsh accent. Just look at the commercials on TV they all take the p**" out of the accent.

Frank
People take the p*** out of ALL accents Frank. Not just the Welsh but also scousers, brummies, geordies, cockney's etc. so get real man. Stop trying to play the nation card and cause trouble, just grow up ;O).

Just back LB needed another bottle of vino so I can catch up with you.

For LB again, " Frank I will post your reply beings you hid it among the comments ". That is one thing I can't be accused of, I don't hide away.

Kevin,

Eck is driving the independence issue and a majority put him in power, albeit a very slim majority. I am all in favour of a referendum to see what the feeling really is. After all I didn't vote to give aslyum seekers free university tuition, but eck brought it in.

SL what has eck done since he came to power ? except the above It looks like the same ship to me only a different Captain. Waiting for my reduction in Water Rates that was promised pre election.

I will reply to your original post as the thread seems to have disintergrated a little.

I partly grew up in Wales as we have an old farm and cottages there and I spent every weekend and holiday playing there in Anglesey. I'm afraid that the Welsh people at that time (in the 70's) were very unfriendly to the English and the only friends I made during the 15 or so years I spent there were all English. The Welsh would chase us and bully us and smash the windows with our fruit when we weren't there.

However I am not at all prejudiced now but treat each and every person on their merits. It took me a long time to go back to Anglesey as our cottages are all rented long term now and when we did with our boys in our caravan we have had a great time as the beaches are beautiful. We have met some friendly Welsh people but have also encountered the walking into a shop and them starting to talk in welsh. This doesn't bother me at all as I feel it is their ignorance and it makes me giggle if anything as it is such a stereotype!!

If I met a nice welsh person on an English site I would chat to them as I would any nice person of any nationality.

Cheers Kathryn

I was just pointing out I seem to have the same attitude as the First Minister of Scotland. If he's not causing friction between our nations I don't know who is, and he was elected by a majority who share his views or do they ??

It's a well known fact it wasn't a majority and neither was this Labour government elected on a majority of the population. That is why if there was a referendum the SNP would lose so don't count on Salmond allowing one.

because they find a need to fly huge english flags to say where are from and its not just me as recently i was in dorset and spoke to a fellow welsh holiday maker and he said to me how nice it was to talk to someone as he had been there a week and nobody had spoken to him
Anthony,

I think you are being a little short sighted. Yes english people do fly the flag of St George but having just attended the Bristol Balloon Festival there were at least 15 separate caravans flying the Welsh Dragon, far outnumbering their english cousins on this occasion.

I did chuckle to myself as I recalled being exiled at Uni in Swansea for 3 years and being chased around the Mumbles by the "jacks" on a saturday night for daring to speak with a midlands accent. Thankfully there was no repeat of this in reverse and I would like to think that such a thing as happened to me in Wales would not happen here.

Hi Anthony,

I think you are being a bit over sensative,I,m Welsh and if people don't want to speak to me so what, that makes me a better person than them because they are unsociable and I'm,not,I'll talk to anyone, but then there are people who are shall we say non-conversationalists(thats a long word)and very wrapped up in themselves or perhaps its all to do with political correctness!!!!.Hold your head up high Anthony be proud at being Welsh.Jim

Before you all get heated under the collar over the Referndum issue just read the white paper first. Yes, it includes independence as an option, but it also looks at other optioons that could be available, including remaining in the UK. All it asks is for people to decide what they feel is the best way to put the country into a better position. Of course Labour a

My message was 'posted' before I had finished. Editorial influence I suspect.

The missing bits.....

and the LibDem twits have stated they want nothing to do with anything that could improve the country, unless they are in charge and can get a slice to themselves. By the way, has anyone seen a LibDem recently? They appear to have become an extinct species although rumour has it one was heard 'howling' in a cave outside Aberdeen. Words including 'why cannot the taxpayer pay my mortgage on my mansion' were part of the diatribe.

Yes SL, I saw a Lib Dem last night on the telly. It was Charles Kennedy riding the train to Mallaig on his way to Skye. I believe he's gone into exile there :O)

Perhaps he believes he's a reincarnation of Bonnie Prince Charlie.
