After 2 hours towing we were ready for a break and pulled in here. We saw no signs for caravan parking, so followed the signs for HGV parking and initially parked in there, but it was noisy and smelly with engines running and a lorry driver relieving himself beside his vehicle. We then spotted a better, quieter parking area suitable for caravans, by continuing straight on through the HGV parking area into the next parking area, which was empty except for 1 coach and so much better for a stop. There were 7 drive in/drive out bays suitable for caravans in the centre of this parking area, with more bays along the edge, near the main building, where the coach was parked.

Inside the building the toilets and sinks were spotless and regularly checked. There is a cafe and I noticed a baby food prep area, with a microwave, at the far wall. There is also a W.H.Smith, Burger King and other shops.

Sadly, Service Stations don't seem to cater very well for people towing caravans. On previous trips we have hadto park (like you) on the HGV area and, in my mind, could consitute a health hazard. Why is it that HGV drivers hae to relieve themselves beside their vehicles when they go into the service stations for refreshments most of the time.

As a word of warning, however, be aware that caravanners have been 'ticketed' for parking in Coach Zones. Check out for any signs, usually not obvious, before chancing your luck.

I know that service station quite well. Did you have fun going over the road humps, Mrs Meals on wheels? They are a little worn down these days, but still quite an obstacle. I remember when they were full of youth and managed to ruin many an exhaust system. Yep, those were the days.......
