Dorset Police Caravan Checks

Dorset Police Rural Crime Team are in the process of carrying out County wide caravan checks. May delay your holiday😁😁.

Is it Dorset Police doing crime checks to ensure you are the owner etc, or is it Dorset Police supporting the DVSA doing checks on the caravan to ensure it is in a safe condition to use, e.g. has good tyres and is not overweight?

As far as I know just physical DVSA style checks

If its the Rural Crime Team they will be looking for stolen caravans. They don't deal with motoring/traffic matters and won't have a clue what to look for/at (I am ex Dorset Police Traffic)

That’s what they said in their press releases. It appears they also checked some other things . I thought caravan theft had reduced but apparently not😥😥
