Double Bed

Hi everyone.

Just come back from our first outing (a short weekend break in Exemoor). All went well with the exception of the slats that pull out to complete the double bed. They appeared to be not big enough to span the two seats and collapsed several times to our annoyance (and "Jess our border collie" who saw the underneath as her kennel).

Is this a common thing? we are now thinking of making a board to use instead. Any one else done that and did it work?

We are off again next weekend (for a week) and want to sought this if we can

Thanks,

Tony

Hi,

Yes this can be a problem and has happenened on at least 4 vans we have owned.

The secret is to ensure you pull out and push back keeping the slats at right angles to the runners.

Dont worry, you will get the hang of it.

I remember in the midst of time my Dad making two boards which he kept under the bunk seats. Bit of a faff though and will add weight.

I tend to agree with James on this one, keep them straight and there shouldn't be a problem - get the dog a crash helmet just in case though....

Tony, l assume when you pulled them out you pulled them tight so the sprung back to locate behind the runners, otherwise they would not be secure.
