hi
Ive been looking at ferry prices for Dover ,Calais next august. They have gone up quite a bit since i last used them a few yrs ago but then that was DFDS. Ive got prices through my laptop & mobile phone on p&os website. But they come back with different prices, Via the laptop i get £152 each way totaling £304 But through my mobile i get £108 per crossing totaling £214, and thats with identical information inputted not only this the times of the crossings are different. Does anyone have a view or idea why this is.
Thanks
Richard W

No. Same times same day in both quotes all info exactly the same. But getting different quotes via laptop & mobile phone. The differences in times are only 40mims or so but that could be that there different ships but its still the same dover crossing. But why should i get different results from the same website from a laptop or mobile phone is the question i was asking

You never know if the sites are using sophisticated software to track you. The higher price might be because you used the laptop for a previous booking and it recognises this and ups the price thinking you will take it but does not recognise the phone as a previous booking so treats you as a new customer and gives you a discount to attract you. I gather quite a few travel firms do have this sort of software and would be interested to know if you have used the laptop for previous bookings.
I have always used one of the clubs to book and ended up with slightly cheaper charges than I found on the ferry websites though.
