Eating out at Sandy Balls

Hi We are at SB for Easter and have a family birthday on Easter Sunday. Would like to have a meal out to celebrate. What is the restuarant like at SB or are we better off booking somewhere nearby. We have three young children so it has to be somewhere child friendly. Thanks Denise

Hi Denise, - at Sand Balls as I write on my mobile BB. How sad!

Best place for a family meal will be the Bistro on the site. It is OK. Had a meal last night with my 5 year old, both the starter and main were good. With two drinks (one a soft drink) the bill was just under

We are local:

The Foresters Arms at Frogham

Excellent and child friendly; could be cycled to as a lunch time venue.

However it is so very well liked that you must book well in advance.

Denise,

We are often at SB and will also be there at Easter.

I also know the Foresters Arms at Frogham and they do nice food there, but as you may want to walk rather than drive..... there is the Fighting Cocks at Godshill. It is a ten minute walk from the SB entrance or 5 mins walk via a short cut out of the back of the site. The food there is superb (or well munch as my daughter says. They do a really good range of food there and have a childrens menu as well.

I think the food is much better than the Woodside at SB, although that isnt bad.

We always wander up to the Fighting Cocks at least once while we are there.

They do reservations as well.

Just one thing, no streetlights in Godshill although there is a pavement, so if you go there in the evening take a torch.

Thanks to everyone for the replys. Will try the fighting cocks as within walking distance. This will be our first time at SB John and we are on the Northfield - hope its nice. Thanks Denise
