Elddis Avante 534 12v light replacement...?

Hi Everyone...

Just a quick post to check if anyone knows would the light above the sink in my caravan be a 12v florescent light or 240v AC..? Ive noticed a few dont run on 12v only 240 ac when the electric hook up is in.

The tube has gone - got a replacement tried it still no joy..got another still nothing. Was thinking it was the starter (if there is one..?)

Ive read of others replacing their tubes with LED lights...if its 12v I might actually do this...any tips appreciated.....🙂

Cheers

James

It should be a 12 volt tube as usually only the reading lights at the front are 240 volts. If a 12 volt replacement tube will not work then I would suspect there is another problem, but it might be worth checking with an Eldiss agent to see if the tubes are specific to the model.

One seller on Ebay claims to have sold 2293 switched 12V LED strip lights and likely don't cost a great deal more than the replacement tubes. I had thought of doing the swap in my 'van to provide better lighting in the sink/hob area.
