Elddis Motorhome, Front top corner bolt come loose

Hi all, thanks for accepting me to your forum. Any advice please.Our Autoquest Motorhome has 2 threaded bolts, one in each top corner. The bolt appears to come from beneath the Boxer roof (inside the roof lining) and pops up on the corner of the inside upper shelf. The van has an annoying metallic when driving over uneven surfaces so I was advised to tighten these bolts. I turned the near side bolt the wrong way and now its just hanging loose. I can lift it up slightly by hand but it wont screw down to whatever was holding it beneath the shelf. I can put a nut on the top and it tightens the bolt but I'm worried about driving as it may be holding the overbed corner to the Boxer roof.
