Elddis wing mirror problem

Please can anyone offer some guidance?
I have an Elddis Autoquest bought new from a dealer. On the 1st service of the vehicle I asked for a check on my nearside wing mirror as the motor was not working to adjust it. I also asked for the radio done checks as that was not working properly either. Peuguot explained the problem was that the wrong mirror had been fitted by the converter so connections from the van to the mirror did not fit. I went back to my dealer who said they would refer to Elddis. That was last August! Elddis and the dealer say it is not their issue, the Peuguot dealer says it is the responsibility of the converter and no one is prepared to fix my problem. I thought it would be a simple matter to it the correct mirror but I was mistaken! I am deeply disappointed, this has coloured my view of the van,the dealer and especially Elddis, as I did expect good customer service which has been sadly lacking. Please can anyone tell me whose responsibility the mirror is under warranty and who it is should be chasing to sort this out? Any guidance will be gratefully received!
Thanks
Jhw

I'm amazed that Peugeot should blame Elddis for the mirrors as, surely, Peugeot deliver the chassis cabs to Elddis with mirrors already fitted don't they?
Search Google images for <peugeot boxer chassis cab> and all the photos have mirrors on the cabs.
One of the Elddis quality claims is that they simply add their bodies to standard Peugeot chassis cabs.
I would be inclined to ask the dealer and Peugeot to explain exactly how that is not the case.

Ok thanks gjh for the suggestion. Peuguto originally said that the mirror is not the standard that they provide on their cabs as it is too large, hence they felt it was down to the converter. I just did not know who to pursue over this so will follow up with Peuguot now, many thanks. Will update when I hear any more.

It might be worth sending an appropriately (strongly) worded e-mail to Tim Zimmerman, Managing Director of Peugeot UK <timothy.zimmerman@peugeot.com> and Rob Quine, Managing Director of Elddis <rob.quine@elddis.co.uk>, giving them the details and telling them you want them to sort it out between them yesterday if not last week.
If I suffer any unwarrated messing about from companies these days I tend to bypass the "lower ranks" and e-mail the CEO/MD direct. I've found it works in most cases.

Legally though, your "contract" was always with the selling dealer.
Warranties, whether issued by base vehicle manufacturer or converter, are over and above the legal duty of the dealer.
So my advice would be not to let them send you all round the houses - go straight to the dealer and tell THEM to sort it out with whoever they need to - and give them a time limit, after which you'll take the case to Trading Standards.

Just in case you need it, here's a link to the exact wording of The Sale of Goods Act, 1979.

http://www.which.co.uk/consumer-rights/sale-of-goods/understanding-the-sale-of-goods-act/your-rights/
"Your rights are against the retailer – the company that sold you the
product – not the manufacturer, and so you must make any claim against
the retailer.

"However, the Sale of Goods Act doesn’t apply to goods you've bought on hire purchase (HP). Instead
the Supply of Goods Implied Terms Act 1973 applies, which makes the HP
company responsible for the quality of the goods supplied and gives you
slightly different rights."

It's sounds like an easy enough thing for your dealer to fix, so probably if you badger them enough (in a polite way) it'll be done. Good luck!

That's great thanks for all your suggestions and help. The Peugeot dealer confirmed via customer service that they would replace the mirror under the vehicle warranty. My problem is now resolved! Thanks to this forum I was encouraged to persevere and keep asking until it was sorted.
Kind regards
Julie

An impressive share! I’ve just forwarded this onto a coworker who
has been conducting a little research on this. And he in fact bought me
breakfast due to the fact that I stumbled upon it for him… lol. So allow me to
reword this…. Thanks for the meal!! But yeah, thanks for spending the time to
talk about this matter here on your web page.
