Elevation!

I've been elevated to the peerage (or something)! See steve in leo's comment on my post in "towing driving and safety", "complete novice needs advice". I'll have to dig out the ermin! Does this rank me alongside Lord B ?

Does it not relate to those in higher religeous office Emmerson, so maybe you'll be in the higher house with Rowan Williams to your left and God to your right right shoulder ;-)

In their rightful places, cris, in their rightful places!!

Lord B, I'd only want it for life! It'd be no good to me afterwards!!!

Emmerson - Lord B. is only trying to put you down as a life peer because you have Welsh connections. I fail to understand why this person is so anti Welsh. England would be right in the proverbial if it was not for the Welsh to support and help them. He does not appear to have the same feeling for our Celtic friends in Scotland and Ireland.

We are using you as a buffer against the Atlantic breakers Colin ;O)

p.s. I do like the Welsh - Bonnie Tyler is one that comes to mind ;O) hehheh!

Bonnie Tyler, Lord B? I have first claim there! after all she was with us when we went to europe last year. We were "lost in France"! Sorry!

Sorry I have been off line for a while and am now reading Lord B's claim for Bonnie Tyler. Typical of the English to want to claim the better parts of our fine country and to Hell with the rest. What about Shirley Bassey, Tom Jones, Harry Seacombe, Ivor Emmanual, etc., etc. There are far too many fine Welsh folk who deserve recognition over the border. Also we can have part claim to the likes of Kylie Manogue (Welsh grand parents), Petula Clarke (evacuated to Wales during the second world war), Rolph Harris (Welsh grandparents). We have also bred many fine Olympic sports personalities and also notable politicians such as Lord Howe of Aberavon. The first labour prime minister also representred a Welsh constituancy (Ramsey McDonald represented Aberavon before the war). So come on you English people give the Welsh the full credit they deserve - do not be taken in by the ramblings of the like of Lord B. - he will only lead you astray.

Funny how they all mostly escaped to live here and/or live elsewhere.

Guess it was just lucky that the Braykewynde shooting parties weren't out when they all made a break for civilisation and those chances of fame and glory ;-)

lmaaooooo ;O) hehheh!

Well years ago Shirley Bassey could have done something for me but it wasn't singing, the rest I wouldn't give you tuppence for Colin. It's funny how you mentioned Lord Howe but you forgot the most famous Welsh politician, no not Neil Kinnock but Aneurin Bevan. BTW Colin, if you can count Petula Clarke as Welsh because she spent a short time as a kid in Wales that makes me Welsh because I remember going with my grandparents to not only Borth but, wait for it, Barry Island. hehheh! :OP

Lord B, did you know that one doesn't swim off Barry Island? One simply goes through the motions!

Shall I get my coat?
