A while back there was a discussion about MS365 and Email clients in particular. Folks not wanting to pay a subscription for MS365; not liking the free Outlook program nor liking Thunderbird.

Recently I got a new workstation and I've been transfering everything onto it. On the old machine I use Office 2019, which was a one time payment, supposedly perpetual license. Support for it stopped last year. I uninstalled it from the old machine and tried to install it on the new one. However, I couldn't activate it despite using several different methods. Equally annoying was that I couldn't reinstall it on the old machine again. It may be due to it being out of support. In each case I got the message to update to MS365 by inserting money each month - which I don't want to do.

So I bought a copy of Office 2024 for £24. This again is a one time payment and supposedly perpetual license. While its still supported for security updates, there are no feature updates - which is just fine for me. Also its AI free which is equally good for me.

So if you like to use Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint and don't want to pay a subscription or want anything to do with AI, then consider buying a copy of Office 2024. Its also available for Macs.

Although at first I had issues with Thunderbird and Libreoffice, but have overcome most of the issues. Where were you able to buy MS Office outright for £24?

I got it from these people. I looked carefully to see they were genuine and it appeared so. I did have a problem with the first Product Key and Instructions they gave me. It wouldn't activate. I emailed the help line and 24 hours later they sent a new key and new instructions which worked perfectly. I think they are really US based despite having a UK registered office.

They respond to email but the telephone number is just an AI bot.

Caveat Emptor and all that......

I’m migrating to Gmail with yahoo as back stop/recovery and use Pages, Keynote and Numbers which are free on MAC and my IOS things.

I note that the same company in the supplied link still advertise Office 19! But for others considering updating please note that Publisher is discontinued in the 24 version so if you want to migrate those files to a later version then buy the 21 which still includes it.
