European breakdown cover?

I have been trying to get holiday b/down cover for my car & van(I have health cover)as soon as they find out my caravan is 7.7metres long they have all said they cannot cover it. Now my van is by no means large,in fact it is quite a common size,so where do I go from here,I have tried both clubs which are RAC and Green Flag based,both clubs claim no limits but as soon as you cross the water-no cover.So how do they manage all inclusive bookings then? Am I missing something,any advice would be appreciated,many thanks Denis.
