Hi all, we normally holiday in France and pickup cash at the cashpoint in whichever French town we happen to be in, dont bother with travellers cheques as the majority of stores and petrol stations are not interested. This year we are going to Northern Spain - the Costa Verde / Cantabria / Asturias - does anyone know are cash machines fairly readily available in this part of Spain and what are the opening hours of Spanish banks ? thanks in advance for any information and feedback.

When we are in Spain we use our Nationwide Debit Card. No charges for using the card, plus a very good exchange rate.

Hi Richard,

There are cash machines everywhere in Spain. They are always available from outside the banks or occasionally inside a door which only admits one at a time for your safety, so opening hours are no problem.
