External Key Safes

Our ten year old Master lock safe has failed locked🤬. It seems they have a weak spot allowing the stored keys to block the opening mechanism.

Now looking for a replacement.many suggestions please of an alternative that does work. Thanks

I have come across a similar problem at an elderly friends house, but I cant remember if it was the same make and model of key safe. You have reminded me to check if I can fashion a protective cover for the locking mechanism , or to create a key holder to prevent it from dangling in the way of the lock mechanism.

Just as a suggestion I have found cutting up old plastic 4pt milk bottles to be a useful source of plastic sheet for similar small jobs. It usually sticks with a good contact adhesive.

I ve lined my letter box opening which went through a wall with the plastic and now my post doesn't snag the the edge of the plaser board when its pushed through.

Great use for milk carton šŸ‘I use them on fence posts, stops them rotting.

That’s a nice Cocker. How did you get it to stay still for the photo? šŸ˜‚
Sadly Sam is no longer with me, old age took its toll. Had him from a pup and trained him to the gun. I remember 1 day he jumped in the back of my truck and a woman came by with a black lab ,the lab tried to jump into the truck and Sam just sat there watching him. The lady said, that's a well behaved dog, I said no he isn't, he's a well trained dog, there is a difference. She just mumbled something and walked away.

Well done Border Billy. Sam looks a peach of a boy.

There’s dogs and there’s dogs and then the Owners!

Until a few years ago we always had English Springer Spaniels, the Badgercourt strain. Our last two were sisters and worked well together. Fluent in English German and French, hand and whistle. Both totally loyal to the end😄😄.

No more for us as age is catching up . Sad but that’s life.
