F2 v C-Crosser v Mitzy Outlander v Pug4007

Bazz,

If you have concerns about depreciation and you're thinking of buying new, then yes, they will all depreciate - and faster than a fat man jumping of the top of a tall building. That's one of the delights of buying new, and since they are all new models - you won't have a big choice in nearly new sales...

The Citroen and Peugeot are based on the Outlander - nothing really French about them other than the diesel engine. And that's probably their strong point - the Outlander gets an older technology and weaker VW diesel engine...

In terms of reliability - probably all too new to get any feedback from users. Fuel economy - I'd guess they'd all be similar towing - since they're almost identical cars.

I think that ther is sufficient data to show that the Outlander/Crosser etc are more economical than FLs but not as good off road, but for normal van duties (ie CLs etc) they are more than adequate.

Citroen claim that the c-crosser does 38.7 mpg and as it is a citroen it will be cheaper than the others. we were considering one as it has a 2000kg towing limit.

The Outlander with the 2.0 VW engine is the most economical of the three variants and you can get that in five seat mode which gives more internal load length when the seats are down. I have driven one and quite frankly the criticism of the engine is over the top. Yes compared to the new VW 2.0 and the Ford Citroen, PSA engines its not quite so smooth and its torque comes in quicker, but its still a good engine. Try one out is the best bet.

The Outlander has changed, or will change shortly, to using the PSA diesel - so the three models will be virtually identical.

The F2 has a similar engine, being based on the PSA unit!
