From another forum: There are reports on a French Facebook page of robberies on an Aire (Aire de Fabregues) on the A9 conducted by robbers in false police uniforms. Here is the text from the page:
12:15 - A9, ASSAULT , TOURISTS
FALSE POLICE AND GENDARMES OEPRATING
Tourists who slept in their camper on rest areas between Montpellier and Narbonne were robbed on the night of March 11 to 12 and that night OF THE 13 to 14 March by false and fake police constables. The victims, foreigners who speak our tongue poorly were assaulted by the suspects who managed to escape with their property. The investigation is being conducted by the gendarmes motorway squad Poussan .
