Plotter this young lady introduced herself on the new members topic area. Incidently for your information she is from south Wales and at present works in the Mecca of the West "BRIDGEND".

Now now Colin we are friends now if you remember after offering me a place on the board.
I only posted that because Diane has posted onto several of the other new member posts so I thought she was after some help.

It was not meant as a go at you sir, all I was doing is clarifying a point that this young lady had introduced herself to the forum and as a newcomer I did not want her to feel that she has been ignored, as other contributers had obviously missed her initial posting. The fact that she has a strong connection with Bridgend is just a mere coincidence and ammunition against Lord B. when he returns from Scotland.

Hello Diane, I'm from Maesteg originally, although I live in Derby now. Welcome. Enjoy the banter and witty riposte on this site, there's alot of it!

Hello all again! In my original post i asked some questions and Colin in his kindness was able to put me on to some secure sites in our area for the winter. Thanks Colin and Lolly who were the only people who did reply. As for posting on other posts i thought that if i said hello to the other newbies then i could help them feel welcome. Oh as for Caravaning Adrian and I know nothing as we are complete novices and will be needing loads of help- So Colin will be round your house all the time!!!!! Just joking. So plotter thank you for your offer and i will gladley take you up on that. MEL My bestfriend used to live in Measteg and i know her family still live there, perhaps you know the Thomas family? One more thing Dose anyone know of any good sites in W.S.M. that will take dogs and is good for a first trip out?

Diane no disrespect but to ask if anyone knows a Thomas, Jones or Williams in Wales is just not on - you are asking the impossible as if you checked the telephone directory you will notice that they are very popular surnames. I will rephrase that - Jones and Thomas are common, Williams is popular.

Diane, i was a Thomas before getting married. My mother Avril Thomas was the physio at maesteg hospital for a while. She passed away last year. Just to keep Colin happy, my grandmother was a Jones, lived in Harvey Street. I bet you know someone I used to know. My husband is from Caerau.

Hi All,

This could save people a fortune on the Ancestry site.

Tracing my wifes family tree

GG Grandfather was Evan Evans from Brynamman,G Granfather was a John Evans,he married a Frances Hughes. and the chidren were Dinah, Hannah Jane, Will Tom. They married a Thomas from Mountain Ash. A Morgan from llanwonno, and a Holt from Broadwindsor, oh and a Williams from Ynysybwl. So try following that lot. Booked 2 weeks at the CC site at Gowerton in the Summer to look some of it up.

Hi All, Beat this one, someone in America traced my father's name, hence my maiden name, very unusual English Name, we have a book, I have not read it yet, but to the point, the surname there is about a couple of living people left whom carry this name on, one being my brother, whom has no sons, the other being my cousin whom has no sons? Therefore the name will eventually be gone. Liz

Can't think of a cousin called claire, could be a distant one.
