Dear sir. Well where do i start? Scotland has so many things to be famous for. Friendly natives, wonderfull scenery, from rolling hills to steep mountains, sea/loch/river fishing.Large friendly cities to remote outer islands. Not forgetting the famous Arbroath smokie, from my home town!. It does not rain ALL the time, well not today atleast!.Midges? what midges? but if you want to avoid them, don't visit during July and August when we found them to be the worst. We love caravanning so much we are now hoping to open our own small rural site. You must all come and visit us when we do!!!

Regards. Hamish and Denise

Like Steve, I too bear the purple blotches of last years midge bites Hamish. I would think you, being on the east side especially the coast, are free of them. Her Ladyships great grandfather hails from Arbroath.

I'm suprised the little perishers can still fly after their meal. Mind you, the welsh variety can be a bit fisty, got bitten good and proper at spring water lakes at harfod by lampeter.

I was well and truly impressed with the local brew, single malt should be the amber nectar.

Scotish beef does compare well with our own Hereford beef.
