feedback on postings

I notice a growing trend where questions, queries and requests for information on sites, technical problems etc. are posted in the forum where the originator never acknowledges the responses. I realise that it is not compulsory to do so but when technical advise , or responses to a query about a particular site etc. are given some form of feedback would be nice. sometimes it is like posting into a black hole.

I agree too - I enjoy giving advice, and it really is nice when someone posts back to say 'thanks', or 'that was useful', or 'I tried that site/equipment/etc.' It's awful when you think they may not even have read your response.

I try and give thanks when I have been given advice, but In case I forgot.

Thank you everybody ๐Ÿ™‚

It's only polite.

I to like giving advice. I'm thinking of asking His Moddyship if I can have my own personal forum in here as an Agony Uncle.

Ask Uncle Braykewynde seems a good title.

Questions like ....

Dear Uncle Braykewynde, I woke up this morning and I had all spots over it .... or

Dear Uncle Braykewynde, my brother found out his wife was being unfaithful and now he's ran off with a sheep.....

I feel I'm a Jeremy Kyle in the making :O)

Have to agree Ray.Sometimes I think ....why bother answering.....but then again I like to be able to help.

Maybe Lord B in his new role as "UNCLE" can be the one to chide ones who forget to say thankyou ๐Ÿ˜ฑ) ๐Ÿ˜ฑ)

Not saying thank you is unfortunately something that is now common in daily life, not just on message boards. It is good that most people do still say "thank you" but there will always be the ones who don't. Simply just rudeness!

After working in retail I encountered many rude customers and not saying thank you is not specifically reserved for any age group. Old and young are equally at fault. I just put it down to the fact that these people were either never taught respect or maybe they think it is beneath them to acknowledge others in this way.
