Female in need of guidance

Can our Audi A6 1.8T tow the Abbey Aventura 330. Kerb weight 1500kg.The MIRO is 1229kg and the MTPLM is 1454kg.

Awning will be in the car.

My hubby has been trying to ascertain whether its a possible match and I thought you lot might be able to give ME the answer so I can impress him and the dealers.

if its a new one that your going for the MTPLM is wrong. if your kerb weight is rigth you would be at a 100%.

I would not tow at 100%. I would go for the 85% rule which is

85% of 1500kg = 1300kg so the caravan MTPLM shud be 1300kg.

Most caravan have plate next to the door at the botm which gives you the MIRO & MTPLM.

I hop this helps Mark

Hello Mark,

Its good to see you joining in.

Just a note though, 85% is not a rule, it is only guideline. The difference is if you break a rule you can expect to be penalised, where as a guideline has no penalty, however 85% is a good target to aim at.
