HI CAN SOMEONE PLEASE GIVE ME SOME ADVICE i have been offered a fendt caravan in spain and campsite owner is selling to cover the rent owed. two things if site owner gives me a reciept for payment for caravan would that be legal and how do i find the age of caravan, any help would be appreciated cheers eric

This could be a very precarious deal.
Are you in Spain now and can actually see the van or not?

Whilst the site owner may be owed rent, he cannot just sell it as it is not his property to dispose of.
You MUST see genuine official documentation giving him the right to sell.
As laws in Spain are different to the UK, you would be best advised to seek local legal clarification.

The VIN number stamped on the chassis or on a plate by the door should give you the age. It will be either the 10th or 11th digit,
If you can obtain that number, the age can be ascertained for you.

if you take this van are you the one to take on the future rent and site fees or are you taking the van away if you do take on the pitch you could be taking on a poor deal as left behind.

HI THANKS FOR THE INFO im in the uk until january so i have some time to mull this over as you can probably see im quite new to carravaning having said that i have had a motorhome for 20 years but its a different ball game cheers eric

hi ta for reply i have been on this site for 7 years now, and i will be taking on future rent etc its just i have had a motorhome for 20 years and to be honest its just not practical parking shopping etc and camper is a bit like me getting on a bit,so a modern car and caravan seems to fit the bill cheers eric
