First time buyer buying new - any advice on discounts?

I am trying to get an idea of what size discounts can be expected for a new van purchase with no part ex.

Has anyone got any advice on how to approach the dealers. What discounts would be considered reasonable for a first time buyer?

Help very much appreciated.

Depends how much the van costs in the first place. You don't get if you don't ask but you will do better if you negotiate in extras than cash. If you are new to vanning you will have to buy all sorts of bits and pieces anyway.

Hi Gareth,

Boing got offered 5.5% off a van in an earlier thread.

I do think you need to take in to consideration, how close are you to a dealer should something go wrong or for servicing.?

As Rioja said, you could get all the extras but you need to know what these roughly cost so you can decide extras or cash discount. End of range models are also offered at a discount but will be worth a little less when you come to trade.

wish you luck and of course a good deal
