New experience for us!

On Saturday we arrived at our rented cottage with our 3 dogs for a short stay on a week. Nice quiet location and most amenities available. Beach within a mile. Linen and towels supplied. Nice to arrive after 100 mile trip and the fuel tank is still 3/4 full. LOL! Took suitcase inside plus BBQ, Grill and air fryer and all set up.

After a day or two we realised, although very minor, what we missed about the caravan. Strangely in the cottage there is no broom, vacuum cleaner, duster, washing and drying clothes something that is always in the caravan. TV in cottage is a normal TV and although we are down near Burnham on Sea, TV signal is terrible and mobile signal almost non existent! Good job we brought along our Firestick from home otherwise evenings good be quite boring.

Anyway sun is almost shining and already we are contemplating where to go next. OH likes to be near the sea, but also likes to have interesting places to visit with walks where we can take the dogs. Maybe Wales is next on the agenda for us around Aberystwyth , but hopefully the 20mph speed restrictions have been removed. If not then Yorkshire or Dorset is another area for us to visit. Cornwall and Devon are definitely off the radar for now as every time we go to those counties, it cost us a lot more money than anticipated. LOL!

Few areas of Wales have plans to increase their 20 mph limit - but it's no worse than the Scottish Highlands or parts of England like Norfolk. You are on holiday so what's the rush?

Bit far away, but there are some stunning beaches near Harlech and Criccieth, great Air BnB there too (dog friendly)

Been to those two places and Pwllheli on our last trip had some nice Fish and chips.

Some of the problem with tv stations is because the Welsh channels pop up first on the search, trick used to (may still work) was disconnect the tv aerial from the TV until the channel search bar reaches about 50% then plug it back in, it skips all the Welsh channels then and picks up the Mendip transmitter

Or just point your aerial at the Mendip transmitter. Or just let the tuner do its thing and rearrange the channels once it is done.

There is not an aerial. It has a box plugged in which is only supposed to work in good reception area with strong signal. Still does not explain the very weak mobile signal? We have noticed this on other occasions when visiting the area.
