We are first timers on the long sea route.

Any tips and advice on any aspect would be most welcome.

Thanks

In the past I've travelled on Pride of Bilbao for three separate years on my way to southern Spain. Now I'd just as soon do the drive down through France. If, like me you like frequent cups of coffee or tea, I would tell you to take with you a low wattage kettle together with an adapter. Three pin plugs on board are continental. Also take mugs, coffee and/or tea. Restaurants on board are very good but fairly pricey.

On the return journey, it's possible to stay overnight on the dockside. Returning caravanners start rolling up by four in the afternoon for the next sailing day.

We did this trip a couple of years ago, enjoyed the trip even though it was a bit rough. We went to the cinema, joined in the quiz and bingo in the bar as well as watched the dolphins.

The only thing i would differently if i went again, is to miss breakfast on the first and stay in bed until we had actually got into the bay of biscay - not very good sea travellers, as from about lunchtime the sea was much calmer.

Also might be worth buying meal vouchers before you go.

Thanks Gill,

Where does one buy the meal vouchers?

Thanks John.

I did post a message the other day but the gremlins popped up again!
