Has any one fitted them with a Powrtouch mover in place, and did you have any problems? is there enough clearance? did the motors have to be moved slightly? Thanks in advance

I had to move my Pwrtouch rollers/motors outwards about 6mm to obtain enough clearance, otherwise no problems, and a much better tow afterwards.

Yes! I fitted shockers to my van and I had to move the mover motors outwards a few mm. Also length the crossover bar.

Hi Terry,

I fitted the shocks to my caravan, which has a Powrtouch Motor Mover fitted. There was no need to move the mover or rollers at all, there was plenty of room to fit the shocks. My caravan is a 2004 Swift Challenger 500se

I fitted them last year to a Coachman Amara which has a Powrtouch and had no trouble. Didn't have to move anything.

Many thanks for all your advice, I think I don`t have enough space between the motors and chassis. I did read of one chap well known on here he had to remove the coloured outer covers to get clearance, something I would`nt want to do but if it means it has to be done then so be it. I can`t move my motors any further out as when engaged the support plate is about half an inch from the tyre, so it all depends on the distance from the chassis to the outer side of the top part of the shocker.

Hi

i have an early, mk 1 i beleive, powrtouch and this needed to be fitted behind the axle with shocks fitted. This was okd direct with powrtouch and i am now on my second ranger with this mover and set up Either you need to reverse the polarity on the mover supply or the zapper will work in reverse

It was me who removed the plastic dust covers but that was to shoehorn them behind an early mk1 Carver mover. I'm under the impression all Powertouch movers would accommodate shockers?

I would though say 1/2" of clearance from the bracket you say have is excessive, every jobs different but I have perhaps 2mm clearance when in operation, but, the bracket is clear of the tyre when in the off position, in these circumstance I've had no problems?!

What I would suggest is you use a piece of wood 50mm square and 250mm long as a dummy shocker to see what clearance you have, because if that fits a shocker will

Thanks everyone for your answers, yes Gary I knew it was you who removed the outer covers, I could perhaps move my motors out about 5mm/8mm. The space I have between the inner plates and the inner side of the tyre is where the space is only when the motors are engaged. The doubtful space is the top mount of the shocker btween the side of the chassis and the side of the motor so if a 50mm square piece of wood will fit with clearance, the cablews can be rerouted, I think I`ll go for them as Halfords have them online only for

If someone can tell me how to do it I can show you some piccys of the shockers with a powrtouch mover fitted to a bailey Pageant. I fitted them myself - the hardest part of the job was jacking the van up. I did have to adjust one of the motors but that was because it had been fitted closer in than the other side. A 19mm combination/ring spanner is easier to get onto the outboard end of the top shock absorber fixing bolt than a socket.

You will find a noticable improvement to the ride and there is less twitching when lorrys and white van man go hurtling past.
