Fitting under carpet heating in caravan

Although we have the so called magic ALDE heating, we find that at floor level it can be quite cool and have decided that for next year we will have under carpet heating fitted. Most of the materials can be bought from CU heating. Some folk have already gone down this route with great success as the heating is a secondary source and low wattage it does trip out the electrics. We are also contemplating fitting it in our home as we have the same problem.

Looked at the website but it looks quite expensive and complcated - seemingly has to use their underlay which adds a few mm. to the thickness.
Not clear how you can cut the mat to fit the odd shape of a caravan.

Here is a marketing opportunity for some Dragons Den hopeful - a simple, cuttable, mat system for a typical touring caravan. I feel 500 - 800 watts would be helpful in the typical fixed bed van (i.e. mine) as we already have 800 watts in the electric blanket. Don't remeber ever thinking of such things 40 years ago when it all started, but then I don't remember.......

On another forum quite a few people have fitted the mats under their current carpets. You don't need to follow the outline of the original mat so no need to cut and also you are not trying to heat up the whole caravan. You simply want to warm the feet area so 150w is more than ample.
