Ford Mondeo suspension

I have a Mondeo Tdci 130 Zetec Estate goes like a dream with or without the van on, however it seems to sit down a bit low on the rear suspension(well within noseweight + laden weight)Anyone else noticed this any suggestions for a remedy greatly appreciated...thanks

Fords are not normally known to have particularly soft suspensions, therefore so long as you are within the noseweight and laden weight limits it surprises me that it should be sitting unusually low. Obviously, the back end will go down with load but the suspension should cope. Is it only because you think 'it doesn't look right' or do you have a real problem? If you don't, I wouldn't do anything. If you do, it may be worth investing in adjustable shock absorbers.

If you have the zetec S you should have self leveling suspention estate only. if not the back end is rather soggy with a load on. there are numerous options, personaly i fitted new heavy duty springs.

Hi all, my 2003 TDCI Zetec Mondeo is rather saggy on the rear, my mate went for spring assisters that made a huge difference, i didnt bother, coz we only have a young baby we pack the heaviest stuff on the rear floor behind the seats and the lightest stuff in the boot. we took a fortnights kit and clothes the other month and it was only slightly lower than normal.

Phil, i too had the dreaded injector problem a couple of months ago and cost me nearly a

Hi

I had the injector problem but it also spiked out the injector control unit. Ford didn't have one of these so we were off the road for 5 weeks. Not happy as we misssed a week away but ford did let us have a Ranger for a weekend so we could go away. Ford also paid 50% towards the bill because it took so long to repair.

Sold the car as like you I didn't have the confidence in the car anymore.

I didn't realise how good the engine was untill I towed with this Galaxy. It only has 15BHP less but what a difference.

Towing with the Mondeo going up Haldon hill I was going up in 3rd/4th. With the Galaxy it's 2nd/3rd.

Cheers for now

thanks all ..

thinking about uprating suspension I,ll look out for problem with injectors got this car because previous car 2001 2.2i vectra bust its timing chain at 68k with no warning ouch**...Gary
