Not a tow car related thread. Any one on here remember the Ford Squire car? Originally £414 brand new and now worth in excess of £4000.

The original Ford Escort van was based on the Anglia/Popular saloon - the Squire was the windowed version of the van - I think with mock wood on the sides.Yes. Do remember them. My dad had an Anglia saloon that looked a bit like it.
And moisture could collect in the distributor cap and leads necessitating a trip to the oven as WD40 wasn’t invented then. The Squire, Anglia, Prefect and popular all had the 100E side valve engine. Terrible in hot weather as carb was above the manifold and air locks woudl form in the fuel line. Otherwise quite a reliable car. 0-60 in 20sec.
Point of order. It would have been either a Ford Popular or Ford Anglia, but not a Ford Anglia Popular. LOL!My dad also own a Anglia Popular Saloon he said it look a bit like it
That was the next generation with overhead valve engine and not the side valve. The engines for both were very good and reliable and easy to fix for any DIY person. Basically spark plus rotor arm and you were away. LOL!My dad had the Anglia 105E and also an Anglia van for work.
