Forum Access

Anyone having difficulties accessing the forum. I have only managed brief and intermittent access over the past several days. I am in now so making the most of it before it refuses to load again. If there are widespread difficulties we can let Admin know.
Thanks

Have you guys tried turning home WiFi off on your device and just accessing through mobile signal. This works for me.
Mel
I haven't tried that, but I only acces the forum through my tablet, not my phone, all other sites ok, no access this morning , just tried at 21.15 and straight on.

This is very strange. At home I haven't been able to connect for days. Away at the moment and the WiFi here allowed me to connect for a while and then I couldn't get on again.

Started up a VPN and then it allowed me to connect again.

Can't do much more until I get home next week.

I have messaged Admin to alert them although it may not be anything to do with things their end.

Down Detector has shown lots of problems ( red or amber) with many providers over the last week or so. Today apart from one all are showing green. Has U.K. been under hybrid attack Captain Mainwaring. 🙈

Just got a early xmas present thought my other laptop was tried of trying to login for three days ,but as you see this one works 👍

Howdy folks,

This is something we're monitoring and working directly with Xenforo to resolve. If folks do run into issues and you happen to have access to a VPN, changing your IP should allow you to access the site again.

We're hoping to get things sorted so no one has to use any workarounds they don't want to, but for now that should help.

Once we feel confident the problems are behind us, we'll be sure to post another update. For now, please bear with us as we work to get these issues sorted out as soon as possible.

Thanks all!

It’s definitely still a problem. My home ISP can’t reach the forum, but can reach the main PC site.

Many Thanks to Admin who have been working on resolving this and keeping us in the loop.
Latest update from Chris:

In addition to what Steve noted regarding options to regaining access, the underlying issues have been worked on and things should start returning back to normal and hopefully will no longer be a problem going forward.

That said, anyone that is currently still stuck (and doesn’t want or can’t use the alternative methods Steve mentioned) just needs to wait a little bit longer. The blocking has a time limit on it varying upon when you were blocked and it will expire, as we’ve seen with accounts previously blocked now once again regaining access. With the underlying issues addressed, most should expire in the next 24 hours if not expired already.

I apologize for the issues this has caused, but it was an unintended consequence of doing something for the greater good.

The interim options from Steve he refers to:

If you're blocked, it's due to your IP address, so if restarting your modem/router will assign a different IP address, please try that.
If you have a VPN, using that will also circumvent these issues.

Hope this helps
Mel

I still can't access from my tablet through the router, but can get onto this from my phone. WiFi switched off.

I have connected half a dozen time today on my iPad, with VPN. It has not required my password. Up until yesterday I had to enter my username password at each log in.

John

PS. Just turned the VPN off. Then had to log in.
