Hi,

I have sat at the sidelines on this and want to point something out.

The information of the IP address of a person using this forum is under the data protection act and if you have obtained this without a court order then both you and the person who gave it to you are breaking the law. If it was allowed then it would be easy for someone to find a person from this information with the possible intent to cause harm and thus is covered under that ruling of the data protection act.

The reason for the need of a court order is to make sure no physical harm is intended. If the forum owners have given this information and any harm comes to the person they will be held partially responsable.

One other comment to make. and this is important!

This is a forum for people to discuss caravanning and associated things. Lets do that shell we?

Steve

Steve, Yes you are completely correct, this is why i have been asking Clive how he has acquired someone's work address through the internet and yet he keeps avoiding the question.

I fear now that that there may have been a contravention of the data protection act and I shall be e-mailing PC to see if they have given out any information about a user to Clive. If they have then the authorities will need to be informed, if they haven't which is what i would expect then Clive is either not telling the truth or he has broken the law.

Hmm,

I just asked if the moderator can step in here.

Apparently, the moderator is on holiday and has been for some time. No disputes can be sorted or information given until his return.

Sort of makes you wonder where Clive is getting his information from if the formum moderator cannot help.

So I think either Clive owns up to not having details or indeed a legal team or comes clean how he obtained personal information (IP addresses are personal as is the sending phone number on call line identity and thats why you can withold your number).

It does seem like no libel has been commited either as you can't libel a nickname as a couple of people stated earlier on.

There are no tracking cookies being sent on this site so there is only one way a users IP can be obtained and this requires the help of the website administrators.

To clear this up. Can the person (if any) who Clive said he has been in contact with the employers tell us? If no one answers we can be pretty sure no employers were contacted and this is harrasment.

Lets get this cleared up and move on...

Regards

Anon (I do use this forum but don't want to get called an idiot)

Most of what you have written here is complete nonsence. Deesigned I think to extend this subject even beyond the bounds of credibility that you and Deborah have already stretched it.

Once again - nothing illegal was done.

Whilst there has been dialogue with the Moderator - but as he/she is not an employee of PC I am not sure what significance you see in this.

I am happy that the forum is now "cleaned up" (not my words) and certainly saner than before - tho' the trannies efforts (see SOAP) still warrent some ammused attention.

Clive I do not mind your bluntness at all, but I do mind you complete avoidance of my question.

You have stated that you know the work address of an individual.

I have stated that it is not possible to find this out from your personal computer only from the recipients computer this being the pc server/s.

I have asked you if you have a court order to do this, you have stated that you have not.

I have asked and am asking you again to clarify how you have found out the persons work address without resorting to illegal means of hacking.

A quote for you in response to yours "The pain of dispute exceeds, by much, its utility. All disputation makes the mind deaf, and when people are deaf I am dumb."
You have no idea of the self control I have exerted over myself considering the last three words of your quote!

I just hope you appreciate the effort!!
