Freelander Advice Please

I am new to caravanning. I purchased a Bailey Pageant a few months ago but I found my towcar, a Toyota Avensis prety poor so I purchased a 2003 Freelander TD4. It is a nice vehicle but it had steel wheels with no centre hubs. Pricing these up at £14.50 what a rip off. I purchased a second hand set of Freelander 5 spoke alloys and fitted them tonight.

I am concerned about the way the alloys are fitted flush against the rear drums.

Is this how they are designed to fit. Your advice will be appreciated.

Hi Steve

just checked the wifes 2003 Freebie and she's got the twin 3 spoke alloys fitted.

looking at the rear set they sit about 10mm of the drum casing if thats any help.

Cant see that the drums would be any different for steel rims but no expert.

Thank you for your replies Roger and Gareth.

Its put my mind at rest as I am going in the caravan on monday and I would have changed them back to the steel rims.

Thank you

I haven't a Freelander Steve, but it might be worth making sure you have the right wheel nuts/bolts for the alloy wheels - often they are different to the ones used for the steel wheels - maybe you got them with the wheels? (my wife's car, and the caravan, both have aloy wheels and a steel spare, and different bolts are supplied for use with the spare).

Forgive me if you have this covered already.
