French sites, booking without a ferry through CC.

Hi all,

I am just in the process of trying to book three sites in France through the Caravan Club website. It appears that it will only let me do this if I include a crossing with them. Without going into it too deep, I already have that sorted.

Can you just book the sites online or not? Anyone know??

Hi,

You can certainly book French sites on line. We did it the other way around, booked eurotunnel with the caravan club and booked three French sites on line no problems whatsoever.

Best of luck

Thanks for the reply Nidge.

It appears they won't let you just book sites.

"The internet booking service may be used to make a definite

booking or simply for price enquiries but may NOT be used for site only bookings or to add sites to an existing ferry booking"

Hi Mark,

I understand your point about not been able to book just the sites with the CC. We found that the CC offered us the best price for the tunnel, however we found some sites that were not in the CC brochure that we preferred and booked them independently on line.

Also the added bonus was that they wanted only a small booking deposit and so we do not have to pay the full amount 5 or 6 weeks in advance of our holiday as with the CC.

Regards

Hi there you should be able to book sites online without booking a ferry and I rememeber when I phoned the Caravan Club they told me that if I did not book a ferry or take the red pennant insurance out I would be chatrged an extra

We booked our site in France this year through the CC, although we did also take out the Red Penant insurance as well.

What's the advantage in booking a site only through the CC? We just book online direct with the site - it's probably cheaper too.
