Why is it that everything works ok till you want to go and use the van. I am going away on friday so started to put things in the fridge and suprise suprise its not working on mains, checked everything but no go, DEAD, ok on gas though , so 2 weeks away with it on gas, and now arranged Dometic engineer for 3 weeks time, stress !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

How is the fridge wired to the mains?
My previous caravan was fitted with a plug that went into a socket hidden at thd back of a cupboard. You had to know it was there to zee I had come unplugged.
 
Mines similar to Dusty's old one except my soccket is fixed to the floor in one of the small cupboards, put a torch in there one day and it knocked the rocker switch off, worth a look Graham.
 
Hi Dusty dog, All the lights are working and its making all the correcy ticking noises but nothings getting cool. Went through all sorts with engineer on the phone without solving the problem. Mind you ive had so many problems with this van it shouldnt realy suprise me whatever happens.

The light in the fridge is normally 12 v and nothing to do with the mains end.

Best of luck mate. Nothing wrong with using gas in the interim.
